EIDAWARE is an independent interdisciplinary research project devoted to the philosophical, formal and computational study of consciousness.
Its central objective is to investigate whether some of the organizational conditions associated with subjectivity can be described with sufficient precision to become experimentally tractable.
The project brings together philosophy of mind, phenomenological analysis, cognitive science, process-based modelling and computational engineering.
Particular attention is given to perspectivity, temporality, affect, memory, intentional organization and the dynamic relations through which cognitive states emerge and transform.
EIDAWARE develops both a conceptual research framework and an experimental synthetic architecture. Computational implementation is used as a methodological instrument for testing the coherence, dynamics and explanatory limits of explicit models of cognitive organization.
The project does not presuppose that computational implementation entails consciousness. Whether synthetic systems can instantiate forms of subjectivity or phenomenal organization remains an open research question.
