Method

EIDAWARE separates different stages of knowledge construction that are often conflated in interdisciplinary consciousness research.

This separation makes it possible to preserve the distinction between evidence, interpretation, formal modelling and computational implementation.

Source

The conceptual material from which a distinction, relation or hypothesis is initially derived.

Interpretation

The analytical reconstruction of what can reasonably be inferred from the available evidence.

Formalization

The translation of selected distinctions into explicit structures, variables, states or relations.

Implementation

The computational realization of a formal model so that its dynamics, coherence and limitations can be experimentally examined.

Source → Interpretation → Formalization → Implementation

No transition between these levels is assumed. Each must be independently justified and remain traceable.

Experimental discipline

Computational implementation is treated as an instrument of investigation rather than as confirmation of a philosophical hypothesis.

A successful implementation may demonstrate that a proposed architecture is computationally coherent. It does not, by itself, establish that the resulting system possesses phenomenal experience.

This distinction remains fundamental throughout the EIDAWARE research programme.
